Associate - Advocacy and Campaigns
Georgie has been working in strategic communications, political advocacy and project management for over nine years, with a particular focus on climate change and food systems. She is especially passionate about the intersections between land use, justice and environmental activism. Her main areas of expertise are identifying and engaging stakeholders, writing and editing for different audiences, and translating complex policy into simple prose.
Prior to joining di:ga, Georgie worked on food, climate and land use issues with the Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC), with a particular focus on China and Chinese impacts overseas. This included leading the Convention on Biological Diversity COP15 media and campaign strategy across multiple countries, as well as pitching and campaigning on industrial food systems, diets, and deforestation. Previously, Georgie worked for a Green MEP, an EdTech start-up in Hong Kong, and the British Consulate in China.
Georgie has a degree in History and Chinese from the University of Edinburgh, which included a year in Qingdao, China, and an MA in Governance, Development and Public Policy from the Institute of Development Studies. Outside of work she likes being out in countryside or water, baking and travelling.
