Portrait of Rose Hughes

Rose has worked for national newsrooms and run political campaigns. She has a keen interest in the evolving role of news, supporting our partners to navigate and cut through a fragmented media landscape. She has particular experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, and a track record of strategic, global media coverage.

Rose began her career as a digital editor at the Mail on Sunday before moving to Sabi Strategy, a corporate and political campaign agency. There, she supported communication campaigns across Europe and Africa, whilst also completing a secondment to Johannesburg, an experience that sharpened her ability to land coverage on a global scale.

Prior to joining di:ga, Rose graduated with a Distinction in Public Policy (MA) from King’s College London and holds a first-class BA in Economics and Development from SOAS. When she has a moment to spare, she enjoys traipsing round art galleries with an overpriced coffee, volunteering with a local choir, and spending her weekends exploring London, with the occasional pub stop along the way.
