The Africa Progress Panel

Working with Kofi Annan-led panel to promote latest research on Africa.

For three years in a row, di:ga helped launch the Africa Progress Panel’s annual Africa Progress Report.

In 2015, Power, People, Planet, argued that closing Africa’s energy deficit would deliver a trip win for climate, poverty and sustainable development. di:ga led on international media outreach and delivered widespread coverage including in the FT, BBC, Guardian, Wall Street Journal, CNN, CNBC, El Pais, and Le Monde. We also wrote op-eds, and other media materials, and accompanied Mr Annan and Mr Geldof to interviews in London.

In 2014, Grain, Fish, Money highlighted the losses to Africa from illegal fishing and logging, and argued that investment in agriculture is key to poverty reduction and inclusive growth. di:ga led on UK and some international media outreach, wrote and edited op-eds and other materials, and handled all media at the launch in London. The coverage was global and widespread, including CNN’s Amanpour programme.

In 2013, Equity in Extractives focused on the potential gains for Africa of fairer mining and extractives industries. di:ga helped with UK and EU media outreach. The report appeared on the FT’s front page, among other places.
