Building communications capacity for a sector partnership

Coaction Hub

The Coaction Hub exists to save lives by transforming how the VAWG sector responds to the experiences of Black and minoritised survivors of domestic abuse and harmful practices. A collaboration between two domestic violence organisations, Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse (STADA) and Asian Women’s Refuge Centre (AWRC), the Coaction Hub aims to elevate the expertise of by-and-for professionals so that minority communities get the support they need.

As a small team without an in-house comms team, di:ga worked with the Coaction Hub to upskill them on communications fundamentals. We used a series of workshops and a digital audit to embed a strategic approach to their comms. This work clarified their understanding of their target audiences, the Coaction Hub’s offer to these audiences, and the channels and messaging that would most effectively reach them. Together these insights allowed us to create training sessions on core messaging and social media: areas with the most potential to increase the Coaction Hub’s impact. By the end of the project the Coaction Hub team were clearer on how to create audience-focused communications that showcased their impact.
