Bureau of Investigative Journalism

Communicating the importance of investigative journalism for society.

di:ga has been working with the dedicated and talented team at the Bureau of Investigative Journalism since mid-2016, helping them demonstrate the importance and value of what they do. We came on board to help rework and tighten their messaging and develop a communications strategy tailored to meet the needs and interests of key audiences, including funders, publishing partners, sources, and potential collaborators.

We developed a brief for the redesign of their website, helped them recruit a design agency, and then worked as a core part of the team thinking through the new site and how it could best serve different users. We were delighted when it won best relaunch in the Drum Online Media Awards in June 2017.

We have also written and helped design their annual reports. The role of investigative journalism in sustaining functioning democracies and promoting more equal and transparent societies is often overlooked. It's fantastic to be able to support the Bureau to demonstrate these benefits through their independent and fearless reporting.
